Peace to everyone in Atlanta who made it out for “Dilla Day in the A” – a celebration of the life of musician James Yancey, aka J Dilla. Starting in the morning with the Lupus walk, to the afternoon with the “Dilla’s Dream Camp” workshop for ATL’s youth, to the highlight of the night at “The Bench” where ATL’s finest MCs repped HARD for Dilla. Illa J tore it down backed by DJ Rasta Root, Ma Dukes Yancey was in the building and dancing her ass off! It was a beautiful thing. The next day I was honored to kick it with them and do what I do on the food tip. Buen Provecho… (BTW the beat for this video is an unreleased J Dilla beat which I used at the Dilla Tribute show and has Ma Dukes’ seal of approval – holla!)

Recently I went to The Dekalb Famrer’s Market in Decatur, GA (Supposedly one of the best in the country) to get some necessities for the kitchen (many posts to come from that trip), and decided to eat at the Cafe inside. For those who have never been, all I can say is – you lose. This shit is bangin’! Imagine a supreme buffet line, with everything made from the ingredients in the market. Peep -
